Our eighth graders have returned from ASD’s annual two day trip to Washington, DC. Students researched the landmarks they would be visiting and became their own tour guides! Stops included visits to: the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, Saint John Paul II National Shrine, exhibits at the Smithsonian Museum, Memorials of: Lincoln, the Vietnam Veterans, the Korean War Veterans, Martin Luther King Jr., FDR, the Marine Corps War, World War II, and finally Arlington National Cemetery to see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, and the gravesite for JFK.
A great amount of history was learned, new places visited, and invaluable memories made ..
Thank you Sr. Sharon, Mrs. Lake, all the chaperones and eighth graders for making this another successful Washington DC trip!
