Kindergarten had some great experiences today as they spent “a day in our community.” Their 1st stop was Firehouse Engine 159. Here, they learned about fire safety from the firefighters and were able to see the firetrucks first hand. Their 2nd stop was Casa Belvedere. This satisfied their hunger as they received a lesson on making focaccia bread (and it was delicious)! The 3rd stop was St. Christopher’s Church to meet with Father Joe. He showed the students many special places inside the Church. The 4th stop was to Pasticceria Bruno. Students were able to get an inside look to behind the scenes of a working bakery and restaurant. Finally, their 5th and final stop was to the Dongan Hills Library for a read aloud! Thank you Mrs. Burfeind and Mrs. Dreher for planning such a memorable day for our kindergarteners.
