I would like to welcome all my students from grade K-8th grade to an exciting year in Spanish. I hope you had a great summer vacation. For my lower grade students (K-4), we will learn vocabulary for such topics as classroom objects, food, greetings, days of the week, and many other fun activities in Spanish. Fifth grade Spanish is a transition from lower grade to upper grade Spanish. Some of the topics covered in fifth grade include vocabulary that we have learned in the lower grades. However, in the upper grades we learn sentence structure, verb conjugations, and short dialogues using vocabulary we are currently learning. In grades 6-8th grade the goal is more conversational Spanish. Activities include questions and answers done orally in class using topics we are learning and short dialogues between myself and the students or between themselves where the questions and answers are also translated so there is an understanding of what is been asked. The text books are in digital form with an app that can be downloaded onto their smart phones for pronunciation of vocabulary we will be learning. The names of the books are Autentico 1 and 2.
